Mixed-Use Development Groundbreaking in Jordan Creek
West Des Moines, IA breaks ground on luxury mixed-use community

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – A new living and dining destination is under construction in West Des Moines. The Cunningham will bring premium housing, commercial space, outdoor areas, and a flagship Ruth’s Chris restaurant to the area. The project will be completed in 2023.

“This is an amazing project that will further expand our tax base and will increase quality of life for our residents,” said Mayor Russ Trimble. “We are proud to help bring this upscale development and the first Ruth’s Chris Steak House to the State of Iowa.”

The new development will see the creation of 199 high-end multifamily units, offering residents a new level of luxury with an upscale fitness center, private offices, structured parking, and a private resident courtyard with a salt-water pool. Commercial space totals 10,500 square feet, which includes a 6,700-square-foot landscaped plaza with public seating and bicycle parking, according to Great Lakes Capital and CRG Residential, co-developers and owners of the project.

Anchoring the project is a new 16,000-square-foot Ruth’s Chris Steak House by Prime Hospitality Group, a family-owned franchise which operates multiple Ruth’s Chris Steak House’s throughout the country. The multi-story restaurant will feature three outdoor patios and valet parking for guests.

“This project is being developed as an upscale urban-style community that brings a wide range of amenities for visitors and community residents and will serve as another regional destination for West Des Moines,” noted John Lassaux, Director of Development for CRG Residential. “This will provide a unique and exceptional living experience. Having a brand name restaurant in Ruth’s Chris Steak House punctuates the style and quality that the overall project will represent.”

In addition to new jobs and residents, the development is bringing a new standard of comfort and style to the West Des Moines community. Construction is estimated to complete in the fall of 2023.
