Groundbreaking in Greenwood, IN

Published 11/12/21

On the morning of Tuesday, November 9, 2021, the city of Greenwood gathered to break ground on a new $83 million, 19 acre multi-use development. This new community, currently referred to as The Madison, will revitalize downtown Greenwood by bringing 18,000 square feet of commercial space, 297 luxury apartments, 20 for-sale townhomes, 42 for-sale condos, and a 300+ space parking garage to the city. The plans for the site also include the Greenwood Fieldhouse, a public amenity that will include multiple sport courts, tracks, and turf fields.

“It’s one of the best projects that I think we’ll see in the next few years to come,” said Mayor Mark W. Myers.

The development is a public-private partnership between the city of Greenwood, Great Lakes Capital, and CRG Residential.  “There was a lot of stiff competition to try and compete for an opportunity to be a part of Greenwood and be on the private side of this public-private partnership and we are humbled to be there,” said Clay Sheetz, Managing Director and Principal of GLC. “We hope you will be as proud as we are going to be with the end product.”

Construction will be completed in phases, with the first phase now underway. To learn more about the project: click here. To watch the ceremony: click here
