CRG Residential Breaks Ground on Premium Development in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – CRG Residential and the City of Fort Wayne officially broke ground today on a $67 million residential development at the northwest corner of Jefferson Boulevard and Getz Road. This community, “Flats at Walnut Ridge,” will provide a premium walkable residential space, connecting the residents with popular restaurants and retail.

“I continue to be encouraged by the growth and momentum we’re experiencing in Fort Wayne,” said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. “Partners like CRG Residential are assisting our collective efforts to be a point of destination to live, work, and play. I appreciate and value CRG Residential’s significant financial investment and commitment to our community. Their experience and expertise in building high quality apartments will help address local housing needs. The Flats at Walnut Ridge will be a tremendous development.”

The Flats at Walnut Ridge will include 322 premium apartments throughout 12 buildings on 40 acres of land. This community is coming to life after two years of conceptual design with state approval for the Flaugh Ditch Bridge design. This bridge will serve as a critical connection between the east and west sides of the development, while also allowing for more natural greenspace and elements throughout the site.

In addition to the bridge, key amenities will include an indoor/outdoor aqua lounge, a heated saltwater pool, covered grilling stations, and a modern fitness center with a private yoga room. The individual units will feature elegant finishes, such as quartz countertops, tiled showers, and designer light fixtures.

“We are proud to bring this modern community to the City of Fort Wayne,” CRG Residential CEO Chris Reid said. “This latest development will be a great addition in an established and vibrant neighborhood, and we’re excited to provide a contribute to the City’s significant momentum by delivering CRG Residential’s state-of-the-art apartment designs and technology.”

Financing for the project is provided by Centier Bank.

The first building completion target is October 2024, with the project wrapping up in October 2025. This community marks the 13th luxury development in the state of Indiana in CRG Residential’s portfolio.
